The purchase of nEHS certificates (nEZ) with the ‘2023‘ year identifier is possible until 19th September 2024 on the sales platform (EEX) for compliance fulfilment for 2023 within the scope of the ‘post-purchase rule’. Please note the sales dates and information in the respective current EEX sales calendar.

Irrespective of the sales dates on the primary market, nEZ with the ‘2023‘ year identifier can also be purchased on the over-the-counter (OTC) secondary market (e.g. via intermediaries).

Obligated parties as per Fuel Emissions Trading Act (BEHG) are required to surrender nEHS certificates in the national emissions trading registry (nEHS registry) by 30th September of each year. The surrender must take place no later than 30th September from the respective compliance account. The deadlines for the transfer of emission certificates in the nEHS registry must be kept accordingly by the responsible parties in order to ensure timely fulfilment of the surrender obligation.
